Hi! I was wondering how I could create a user account via command line?
I don’t believe there’s a command-line tool that will let you create user accounts. User accounts also cannot be created through the web API for Phabricator (Conduit).
Oh, how would I create user accounts?
There used to be an interactive cli tool to create accounts, but it was removed 2 years ago and (probably) no one complained.
When you first create the install, there’s a step that creates the first account (and makes it admin).
Then you’re expected to configure Auth to allow users to register in some form (e.g. by authenticating with your corporate LDAP). There’s also UI to create bot accounts.
Do you have a use-case that isn’t covered by these options?
Yes, I’m using phabricator internally and don’t want to allow registration… but we don’t use LDAP or any sso, So I was thinking it would be easier if an admin or someone else could manually create the account.
Admins can create new user accounts through the web interface, under the People application there is a “Create New User” in the top right.
I see, thanks!
I made a script (php-based) to create bot user with command line.
Based on my script you can create a script to create user with command line
The specific part to create bot user.
