Squash edits of wiki pages

I am new to this forum, I believe I read everything I was supposed to before posting, but if it’s obvious I didn’t then roast away and point me to the pages I have to read first.

When modifying a wiki document, someone made a bunch of changes in many different edits, which blew up how many versions there were in the history. Is there a way to condense all these versions and edits, almost like squashing commits in git?

Thank you

There’s no such option.

The list of events at the bottom of the page should be collapsed, like this:

so it shouldn’t grow forever, but it can still end up long.
