✨ Support for emojis in commit messages

#1

emoji in commit messages should not be reserved to git and git oriented tools ! We use phabricator with mercurial, and it would be awesome if it could support them too !

It seems that a subset of emoji is supported in the comments, but not in commit messages imported from mercurial repos (I guess it would be the same with git and phabricator).

Phabricator already supports actual emoji (that is, Unicode emoji characters like :cat2:) in commit messages.

We are very unlikely to ever support :emoji: codes in Remarkup. See https://secure.phabricator.com/D17244 for some discussion and rationale. If you’d like this feature, your best bet is to add a Remarkup rule yourself.

(Discourse has replaced my emoji character U+1F408 with the text :cat2: and rendered that as a small image of a dog or weasel, but I typed the U+1F408 character.)

Thanks a lot, I’ll go and read that long discussion.

Is Remarkup used to render titles of Differentials ?

#5

No, see https://secure.phabricator.com/T3278. Actual emoji work correctly.
