I cannot find any documentation about what Title is (in account settings for a user on a phabricator instance; if a user fills in Title, the custom string appears next to a user glyph that looks similar to https://www.w3schools.com/bootstrap/tryit.asp?filename=trybs_ref_glyph_user&stacked=h)–maybe https://secure.phabricator.com/book/phabricator/article/configuring_accounts_and_registration/ should mention it. If it is something like “administrator” or “moderator” I’m not sure why I have write access to that field on Blender’s bug tracker which is a phabricator instance. If Title is something like that, I’ll have to let them know new users probably shouldn’t have write access to that field, and they should do a clean sweep of the value stored in that field after revoking the permission for all but administrators.
The caption on that field used to say “Serious business title”, but it was removed about two years ago in https://secure.phabricator.com/D15103. The field description, which isn’t currently displayed anywhere, is “User title, like “CEO” or “Assistant to the Manager”.”
It’s a free-form text field. It has no actual effect on anything.
